Biggest ever prospectus showcases Australia's critical minerals potential

Joint media release with the Minister for Trade and Tourism Senator the Hon Don Farrell

The launch of Austrade’s largest Australian Critical Minerals Prospectus to date shines a spotlight on 94 investment-ready projects.

Global demand for Australia’s critical minerals remains strong. They are essential to technologies that underpin modern economies, from electric vehicles, batteries, solar panels and wind turbines to defence systems and digital infrastructure.

The volume and diversity of projects featured in this edition reflect the increasing breadth and maturity of Australia's critical minerals sector.

Since February, 29 new projects have achieved the required milestones for inclusion in the Prospectus, including 20 upstream projects.

These additions broaden the range of investible opportunities across the critical minerals value chain.

The Prospectus’ midstream projects section continues to grow, with nine additions bringing the total number of midstream projects listed to 36.

These projects represent the final production stages of the value chain, where raw critical minerals are processed and refined.

The Australian Government is building a strong network of international agreements to advance critical mineral security, including the United States–Australia Framework for Securing of Supply in the Mining and Processing of Critical Minerals and Rare Earths, endorsing the G7 Leaders’ Declaration on Securing Supply Chains for Critical Minerals, and joining the G7+ Critical Minerals Resilience and Production Alliance.

Alongside Australia’s rich natural resources and expanding processing power, these agreements reinforce Australia's position as a reliable partner and a destination of choice for critical minerals investment.

The Australian Critical Minerals Prospectus was launched on the sidelines of the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) at a reception with more than 90 senior Australian and international executives from government and industry.
