$16.4 million on offer for manufacturers in South Australia and Victoria
15 December 2017
Eligible manufacturing firms in Victoria and South Australia are encouraged to apply for the Advanced Manufacturing Growth Fund’s (AMGF) second grants round, now open.
Acting Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science, Michaelia Cash, said $16.4 million in funding was available in this round for small and medium sized businesses to co-invest in capital projects to enhance their advanced manufacturing capabilities.
“I encourage Victorian and South Australian businesses looking to transition and expand into advanced manufacturing to apply for these grants,” Minister Cash said.
“The Australian Government will offer grants between $500,000 and $2.5 million to cover up to a third of eligible project costs. This provides a real incentive for businesses to invest in a step change to advanced manufacturing, improving their productivity and domestic and international competitiveness.”
The second round of the Advanced Manufacturing Growth Fund is open for applications between 14 December 2017 and 28 February 2018.
Under the first AMGF grant round, awarded on October 17, companies shared almost $30 million in financial assistance, resulting in $119 million of investment.
The AMGF is part of the $100 million Advanced Manufacturing Fund, announced in the 2017–18 Budget.
