Grants help Australian industries grow and prosper
1 May 2018
Assistant Minister for Science, Jobs and Innovation, Senator the Hon Zed Seselja, today announced the opening of the latest round of grants designed to help Australian industries make the most out of the nation’s world-class research capabilities in order to grow and create new jobs.
The 20th selection round for Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) grants open today, 1 May, and will close on 3 July 2018.
The CRC Program provides competitive and merit-based grant funding to support industry-led collaborative research partnerships.
These partnerships solve industry-identified problems through conducting and commercialising leading-edge research, driving emerging technologies and exploiting global supply chains and new markets.
Assistant Minister Seselja said the CRC Program remained at the heart of the Australian Government’s commitment to driving collaboration to strengthen our industries.
“The Australian Government has committed $709 million to the CRC Program over the next four years,” Assistant Minister Seselja said.
“Supporting businesses and research organisations to develop new products and services is fundamental to ensuring our industries are able to prosper and generate new jobs.”
“I expect strong interest in this latest round of grants from a broad range of industry sectors.”
“The program aims to improve the competitiveness, productivity and sustainability of Australian industries.”
